Higashi is a general term for dry sweets with little moisture, which became popular with the development of the tea ceremony during the Edo period. Among them, Wasanbon is a type of dried confectionery made by pressing sugar made from sugarcane, which is only produced in Kagawa and Tokushima prefectures, into a wooden mold. It is made only from Wasanbon sugar, without any dusting flour or binders. This pure, Japanese higashi has been designed into a tenugui.

(In order to bring out the soft texture of the fabric, the finishing press is done lightly. This is why some wrinkles may remain. Thank you for your understanding.)
